what she said is actually insanely accurate to how animation actually works:

like yeah, you can love your character… you can think they’re your precious lil blorbo from your brain’s private cottage…
but once you step into professional animation?

you gotta be able to be like:

okay. this gremlin needs bigger eyes now. fine. i’ll do it.”
“oh the studio wants them rounder? sure.”
“oh you want me to redesign their entire silhouette?? bet.”

because studios aren’t paying you to be attached. they pay you to be adaptable.

and Lynn knew that.
that’s why she was successful.
that’s why she worked across different studios and styles.
that’s why she co-created characters that LASTED.

Flexibility = longevity in the art world.

like, Vivziepop is talented but she is soooo “my way only!!!!” vibes 💀
(whereas Lynn is like “sure let’s solve problems, let’s collaborate, let’s adjust.”)

that’s why her designs feel timeless instead of trying-too-hard-to-be-edgy.

Warming Up for My Art World Takeover

“Welcome to my messy little brain”

hi!, i’m cheyanne cheney. i’m 18, born may 2007, and i grew up out in the countryside of Danville, Virginia. it was pretty quiet most of the time, so my imagination kind of became my main source of entertainment. i’ve always been the type to drift into my own little worlds and start drawing what i see in my head.

i was born with epilepsy, so that’s something i’ve dealt with pretty much my whole life. it didn’t stop me from doing anything, it just made me think differently about the world and pay attention to things most people don’t really notice. art became a way for me to express how i see things, especially when it’s hard to explain out loud.

i’ve always loved drawing, painting, sketching…basically anything that lets me create. my dream is to become a professional artist one day. i really enjoy realistic artwork, especially when it comes to capturing details and shadows. one style i especially love is cross-hatching. there’s something about slowly building up lines and textures that just feels right to me. it’s like the picture slowly appears out of nowhere, and i love that.

i’m still learning and still growing, but art has always been part of my life, and i don’t plan on letting it go anytime soon.
